I love Roy's, so I was heartbroken to see that both Las Vegas locations had closed. Luckily, my family and I were vacationing in Hawaii and decided to eat here on our last night. We made a reservation 2 days in advance, and the only available time was 8 PM. Once we arrived, the hostess immediately greeted us and walked us over to our table. [Ambiance] upscale, tropical atmosphere, packed, and busy with an adequate amount of staff to keep the guests happy. [Service] Outstanding! Our server did an excellent job explaining the menu and providing recommendations for dinner. He made us feel genuinely welcome and even made us laugh - I wish I remembered his name! I had to go with a Roy's classic dish, so I chose: * Misoyaki Butterfish - it was just as buttery, savory, and delicious as I remembered. The sauces complemented everything on the plate. My mom ordered the same thing, and ordered a side of rice, so we shared it. Without the rice, it would've been too salty. I was too full for dessert, but the baked cookie and ice cream my kids ordered looked amazing. They devoured the entire thing in a matter of minutes, so I'm pretty sure it was good - haha. A easy 5-star rating! I highly recommend this location if you're in the area. It was the perfect way to end our vacation. Mahalo, Roy's! :)

First things first, Roy's has some of the best service I have had in a while. Our waitress was super talkative and friendly, and the person filling our water stopped to talk with us about hockey. And while talking he never missed an empty glass, and no one's water went below half empty. Our waitress had great menu recommendations, and plates were quickly cleared. As for food, we were all completely blown away. First by the amazing presentation, and then by the delicious taste. For appetizers we got the Brie plate, and Brussel sprouts. Good and tasty, but nothing mind blowing all things considered. HOWEVER, we tried the macadamia nut crusted fish, butterfish, and Chilean seabass, all of which were DELICIOUS. My family loved the macnut fish and the seabass, while I had the butterfish, which was just so packed with flavor! The sauce on the side didn't overwhelm the fish, and the two fillets just fell apart on my fork. Seriously, so flavorful and delicious. Any foodie will love it here! We also got two desserts, the orange chai cheesecake and the pineapple upside-down cake. The cheesecake was good, but no one in our party is particularly fond of chai spice, so while we could appreciate the flavor, it wasn't necessarily for us. The pineapple upside-down cake was different. The pineapple was beautifully caramelized, and the cake was super moist! Not too sweet, and very easy to share with the table. A fun tropical way to end our delicious meal! Overall, we loved the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Everyone was happy and hospitable, and the food was absolutely fantastic! Yes, a little pricey, but the money is well spent as the quality of the food is top notch, and if you have any concerns about your order, they will happily remake it for you. The chef and managing staff are passionate about providing the best food experience for all their guests, which in my opinion is the key to Roy's success.

It still is our favorite place to go to celebrate our anniversary when we are in Hawaii. We usually get the same things since the menu does not change a lot. We started with the Brussels sprouts with Parmesan cream. Delicious ! I had the classic duet made of macadamia crust Mahi and miso black cod. Macadamia crust Mahi is one of my favorite. However, I felt like the crust was not as thick and crunchy as it was before. The black cod was amazing though. We finished our dinner with a pineapple upside down cake and we got a brownie offered for our anniversary. Such a nice attention ! Our waitress was friendly and amazing. She was efficient and good advice to help choose dessert I recommend it for a nice celebration

This is my second time at this Roy's and they do not miss. If you're looking for an upscale place to get great food and have the perfect dining experience from start to finish, this is it. Come here for delicious food, impeccable service, and a great atmosphere. The Food: Every dish we ordered was flawless and cooked to perfection. My favorite is the miso butterfish. It was melt-in-your-mouth tender with rich, buttery flavors and the perfect amount of umani. Definitely one of the signature dishes that I recommend. The Service: The service was absolutely top-notch. Our server, Elan, was extremely attentive without being intrusive. He and the other server were always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They were on top of it. I don't think I've ever had my water refilled so many times. They provided great recommendations and made the entire experience feel seamless and special. Overall, Roy's in Ko Olina is a must-visit for anyone looking for exceptional food and service. Every dish we tried was perfect, and the service made us feel like VIPs. If you're in the area looking for a great place to eat, this is one spot you won't want to miss!

Had the amazing opportunity to eat at Roy's this Christmas and I was definitely impressed. The food was so good and my only problem was that I couldn't try everything!! I will say the Mongolian ribs were my all time favorite!! As well as the soufflé. The staff was great. Attentive and prompt. Answered all my questions & were very polite. Even leaving the restaurant I was greeted by staff that I hadn't even spoken to before. Loved the outdoor atmosphere. I actually prefer outdoor seating to indoors. I can't wait to return

We are staying at our ts in KoOlina resort and it's easy to just walk over to Roy's leisurely for lunch. Had been here for dinner a couple of times before and do love their signature sable fish dish. Really like their lunch menu--we both ordered the Fish Katsu sandwich--crispy thick cut fish filet along with bacon, lettuce and tomato slices on a toasted bun. It was so thick hard for me to bite into yet it's fine for my hubbys big mouth Came with lightly seasoned fries and a couple of sauces on the side. What a nice ambiance, relaxing golf course views, tables set far apart, soft listening music.... Waitstaff professional and efficient, water refilled frequently. Will definitely come back again just for the Fish Katsu BLT sandwich.

Food here is classy, timeless, "upscale", approachable, but it's also soooo drab and boring. So happy this place is currently undergoing renovations because it was just that time. Brie appetizer was amazing. Crab cakes-meh *Roy's Canoe Two with Spicy Ahi Maki, Shrimp Tempura, Blackened Ahi, Mongolian Ribs, Chinatown Chicken Springs Rolls, was just fine, nothing too special, edible, but nothing of note. Sweet chili soy beans were the most flavorful of the bunch served hot which was nice. Miso butterfish is the way to go here at this establishment, for a whopping 60 bucks, it was flavorful and again classic. The Field trip which is their play on a surf and turf needed salt, and plating rice like a Musubi should just be a crime. I will say, that yuzu dusted chicken wing was delicious. Staff came out with a few complimentary desserts which was very kind and the soufflé here is always good. Service 11/10 Ambiance 6/10 but they're working on it which is cool so for now, men we take the trek upstairs to the bathrooms. They even have a small private event room for everyone to utilize. Will I be back? Absolutely. Will I lick my spoon of the soufflé and rub my full belly, of course. But bro, surprise the customers with something new sometimes. It's time for the Roy's 2.0!!!

When visiting Hawaii, Roy's is a must for date night and for any and every celebration! This location is located to Koolina at the Koolina Golf Course. It overlooks the course so you're sure to have a beautiful view! The service is top notch! The servers know their menu and can answer any questions and the runners ensure your water never goes past half empty. This time, we came to celebrate our anniversary! They are always sure toto congratulation you and always have a personalized complimentary dessert at the end! Here's what we got: Appetizer: Canoe for 2 which is a selection of their most popular appetizers (spicy ahi roll, chicken spring roll, shrimp tempura, seared ahi, & ribs). They come with 2 of each to be shared. It was the perfect tasting menu! We both liked the ribs the best! Ahi Katsu Sandwich: I absolutely loved this! It had all my faves in one sandwich: avocado, tomato, lettuce, bacon, and lightly battered ahi with a side of fries! Definitely recommend if you love ahi Katsu! Fish & Chips: These are made with the fresh catch of the day which happened to be kampachi! My hubby loved the light but crispy batter and that it came with ocean seaweed salad and other picked veggies. Kids Menu: our 2 year old daughter tagged along and this is the boujiest kids menu ever! But, our daughter loved it! It's a 3 course meal! First course: cheese quesadilla, veggies with ranch, and fruit. Next, we selected teriyaki salmon for her entree which came with rice, green beans, and steamed carrots. Lastly, for dessert, an ice cream sandwich! She def ate ALOT! Overall, we'll be back for pretty much every special occasion since this is now our daughter's favorite restaurant!

Made a reservation online for dinner at 7:15pm. The place was popping. I wish there was more of an atmosphere or view of the outdoors but it was jsut really dark. The restaurant itself is a bit old in style but still a vibe. Staff were all super friendly and nice. Very helpful when it came to what to order. We got a few dishes: Appetizer: Wood Smoked Mongolian Spiced Baby Back Ribs - amazing fall off the bone. Sauce was delicious, had a sweetness but not too sweet. A great way to start the meal! Entrees: Honey Mustard Charred Braised Beef Short Rib - we understood why it was one of the top dishes. So tender and so soft. Sides went very well with the dish. My partner LOVED this dish - 10/10 Pan Roasted Chilean Sea Bass - probably one of the best sea bass I've had in my life. I would order this again no doubt. Seared to perfection, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. 10/10 Dessert: Chocolate soufflé - so rich in chocolate, warm and fluffy, with ice cream. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. We were also given another complimentary dessert plate as we were celebrating just getting engaged which was a really nice surprise. So thank you Roy's for making a special memory for us :)
